FAQ
Q: What is a custom plush?
A: A plush or plushie is a soft stuffed doll. Custom refers to their being unique and handmade by one
person as opposed to being mass-produced by a company. They are typically made in the anime and manga
(Japanese animation and comics) style with big, expressive eyes, large heads, and small bodies. I tend
to like shojo (girls') style anime and manga where characters are usually cute or pretty and
long-haired (whereas "boys'" style anime/manga have more masculine, muscle-bound characters), so my
plushes reflect that style.
Some plush artists do commissions, which is making a plush of a particular character for a customer.
Q: What is an amigurumi?
A: They are small crocheted or knitted toys, often animals. They are also typically made in an anime
style with large heads and small bodies, but the eyes are often simplified, usually just black dots.
Q: Do you do commissions?
A: At this time I am not doing commissions.
Q: Do you have a waiting list?
A: No, sorry.
Q: Is the ______ plush for sale?
A: Unless it says so, no. Sorry.
Q: Will you make another ______ plush?
A: I generally don't like to repeat characters until a sufficient amount of time has passed and I
feel I have advanced in my sewing enough.
Q: How do you make your plushes? What materials do you use?
A: For most of my plushes I have used robe velour for the body and fleece for the hair. Eyes and other
facial features are made with Hewlett Packard Iron-on transfers. Other materials are indicated on individual
character pages.
Q: Can you help me make a plush?
A: I highly recommend the UFOcatcher.com BBS at
www.ufocatcher.net. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly. ^_^
Q: Uh...what the heck is "Immortal Shanty"? o_O
A: Hehe, what can I say. It's an inside joke that got way out of hand, as they usually do, and doesn't
make sense. The Immortal Shanty is a being or deity of sorts from an RPG-type story called Paradox Lost that my friend
and I started working on many years ago. I'd like to make a mini-page for it (Paradox Lost, I mean), but
I don't really have anything concrete to put up besides character profiles and outlines, so...perhaps one day.
