I started this website in February of 2004 for a few reasons which I'll talk about in no particular order. My current reading spree started at the end of November, 2003. Returning from a trip to Las Vegas, I sat next to an airline passenger reading non-stop to Minneapolis. I've always enjoyed reading, but over the past few years the tightening grip of cable televisions appeal applied a near-death choke hold on my free time. That and my lack of self-control. So once I got back, I decided to pick up a book and put down the remote. I've re-kindled that desire for knowledge and enjoyment that reading brings.

A second reason for creating a book review website I didn't discover until I started actually creating the website is the actual interpretation of the material at hand. Reading material is one thing...digesting, interpreting, and uncovering the key ideas is another. Don't get me wrong, I'm no genius (just ask my friends). This is merely my feeble attempt  to hopefully provide some insight into some good and some bad books you may be considering to read.

This also allows me an opportunity to share what I'm reading with friends and family across the country....yes, that means you Senior Beatty way out West :-)
