Welcome! The Green Bay Aquarium Society is a club devoted to the aquarium hobby, in all its many forms. Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, we currently have members from all over the Northeastern Wisconsin area (and beyond!).

Welcome! The Green Bay Aquarium Society is a club devoted to the aquarium hobby, in all its many forms. Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, we currently have members from all over the Northeastern Wisconsin area (and beyond!).

Some of our activities include:
Monthly meetings
We meet at a different member's home each month, usually on the second Wednesday, and chat about fish, as well as planning upcoming events.
An annual Fish Auction
This is one of our most popular events. Usually held in September at the Green Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Members and nonmembers contribute various items (fish, foods, other supplies, and even tanks!), which are sold to the highest bidder (yet often far below the retail price). Proceeds are split between sellers and the club, which uses its share for future GBAS activities.
The Auction Weekend will also include a Fish Show, where people can show off their fish the day before the auction.
Field Trips
We occasionally travel to various aquaria-related places outside the immediate area. For example, we might go to a public aquarium (such as the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago), a zoo with a large aquaria area (Milwaukee County Zoo), a highly-recommended pet store, or even a remote lake or stream (to do collecting).
Seminars
When possible, we like to bring in outside experts to discuss things like fish health, tank filtration, and other specialized topics.
Club Library
GBAS has a modest library of aquaria books, which members are free to borrow when desired. We also subscribe to various magazines and newsletters, which are also available to all members.
