“WM. H. GEORGE DIES SUNDAY

Former Local Resident Succumbs in New Hampshire; Rites on Wednesday

William H. George, 76, former well known resident of Marinette and local business man, died Sunday morning at his home in Manchester, New Hampshire.  He was stricken last Thursday by paralysis and this was followed by pneumonia which resulted fatally.

His first wife, Ella Stephenson George, daughter of the late Senator Stephenson, died some years ago in Marinette.  About twenty years ago Mr. George left Marinette and located in Cleveland, O., and he was married there a second time.  He then moved to Manchester, N. H., where he engaged in the insurance business.  His wife and one son, Howard S. George of Menominee, survive him.

During his residence in Marinette he was connected with the N. Ludington company and later with the Marinette Abstract Co.  His remains will arrive Tuesday evening from the east accompanied by his son, Howard, who hastened to his bedside when the sad news of his being stricken with paralysis was received here.

There will be a brief funeral service at St. Paul’s church in Marinette, Wednesday morning at 10:30 o’clock.  His remains which will arrive here Tuesday evening will be taken to the McLain Funeral Home.”
