Day 2 - Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Cahirsiveen
After ferrying across the Shannon, we travelled southwest to the Dingle Peninsula, a scenic area along the Atlantic. Weather was dismal, with
gale force winds, but scenery included beehive huts and headlands.
Then we headed on to the Ring of Kerry to a B&B at Cahirsiveen.

Day 3 - Ring of Kerry, Mizen Head, Clonakilty
The soggy weather continued, ruining our plan to ferry to the Skellig
Islands, rocky outcroppings 8 miles out in the Atlantic. We finished
the RIng of Kerry, Glengariff and out to Mizen Head, the southwest
'corner' of Ireland. Our stay was at Clonakilty.

Day 4 - Cobh, Rock of Cashel, Waterford, New Ross
Onward to Cobh and Irish emigrant history, then the spectacular Rock of Cashel, seat of Irish kings and bishops. After a quick meal in Waterford, we stayed two nights at our favorite B&B with Michael and Anne Foley in New Ross in the southeast of Ireland.

Day 5 - Dunbrody Abbey, Hook Head, Wexford
South from New Ross, we had Dunbrody Abbey all to ourselves
Hook Head is one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe, dating to the 12th century. We shopped and happened on a parade in Wexford Town.

Day 7 - Newgrange, Slane "Art in Action", Skerries
It was a Bank Holiday, so we went to Newgrange, a pre-Christian
passage tomb, comparable to Stonehenge in a way. We found an
"Art in Action" show at Slane, then back to Skerries.
