Ireland 2000

Day 7
Newgrange, Slane "Art in Action", Skerries

It was a Bank Holiday Monday and the owner of the cafe where we had lunch recommended a local art show "Art in Action", so off we went.  It was a wonderful event with artists "in action" - painters painting, sculptors sculpting, etc.  It included local concert bands, cheerleaders, traditional Irish music and dance.

We drove through Dublin on a Sunday afternoon/evening, not a difficult city.  We stayed at Skerries a seaside town north of Dublin, but on the transit line.  The tides vary greatly, so the sailboats have double keels and sit in a "three-point stance".
