Kids' Awards

Each year, our garden club recognizes large pumpkin
and large sunflower youth growers. Sunflowers are measured, and pumpkins are weighed
at the Green Bay Farmers' Market in October. This is
announced prior to the event through a Farmers' Market brochure and
flyers distributed at previous weeks' market days. It is an established
event over many years, so local people are aware of it. Pumpkin
seeds are available through our Extension office in the spring.

Awards include a $100 U.S. Series EE Savings Bond for first place
sunflower and pumpkin winners, a $75 U.S. Series EE Savings Bond for
second place sunflower and pumpkin winners, and a $50 U.S. Series EE
Savings Bond for third place sunflower and pumpkin winners.
