DePere Middle School Jazz Festival
The DePere Middle School Jazz Festival will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at DePere Middle School. This non-competitive festival will feature guest artist Bob Baca from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Each participating jazz ensemble will rotate through three sessions in the morning. Sessions will have include a master class on their instrument, provided by area band directors/musicians. A jazz ensemble rehearsal with Bob Baca. and an improvisation session. There will also be a jam session during lunch, and afterwards each jazz ensemble will perform two selections in an afternoon concert. Listed below is an example of a typical day.
9:30 – 10:15 Master Class
10:30 – 11:15 Big Band Rehearsal with Bob Baca
11:30 – 12:15 Improv Session
12:15 – 1:15 Lunch/Open Jam Session – Combos
1:15 Middle School Big Band Concert
