Sentence Diagramming Guide: Section 5 - Predicate Nominative

1. Start by drawing your core structure, but make the space for the verb twice as long as the verb is.
2. Where the verb ends, draw a slanted line that "points back" to the subject that it is renaming.
3. Place your predicate nominative (P.N.) on the core line to the right of the slanted line that was just drawn.
