1. Diagram your two sentences by using your core structure and adding any extras.
2. Draw a dotted line perpendicular from you main line coming out of your verb. Draw a short whole line perpendicular to the dotted line facing right. Then continue your downward dotted line perpendicular from the whole line from the right end of the whole line until it reaches the verb of the second sentence. Place your coordinating conjunction (co. conj.) on the whole line.
