“Vets Helping Vets for a Better America”
John and Richard Erban Post#7
Oshkosh, WI
Preamble to the AMVETS Constitution
We, the American Veterans, fully realizing our responsibility to our community,
to our State, and to our Nation, associate ourselves for the following purposes:
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States: to safeguard the principles
of freedom, liberty, and justice for all; to promote the cause of peace and good will
among nations; to maintain inviolate the freedom of our country; to preserve the fundamentals
of democracy; to perpetuate the friendship and associations of all Veterans and to dedicate
ourselves to the cause of mutual assistance, this by the grace of God.
Since its founding in 1946, Post #7 has earned a reputation as one of the most active and
effective AMVETS Posts in the State of Wisconsin, the nation and our community. Post #7 members
and members of its Auxiliary have been instrumental in the founding of Sawdust Days here in Oshkosh,
in the establishment of the National AMVETS Auxiliary, and most recently with the founding of the
United Veterans Honor Guard. Through the efforts of the Post’s and Auxiliary members Post #7 has
raised thousands of dollars annually for various veteran and community charitable organizations.
We are justly proud of our contributions toward the betterment of our community, our state, our
nation and the lives of countless veterans.
